GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College women's volleyball team suffered a three-set (19-25, 26-28, 24-26) defeat to the Thomas More Saints in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) contest Sunday afternoon.
Shelby Friedel (Columbia Station, Ohio/Columbia) and
Jessica Monroe (Massillon, Ohio/Massillon Washington) paced the Tomcat offense. Friedel had 11 kills on 24 swings and added a solo block. Monroe had nine kills on 19 attempts. Friedel had a .417 hitting percentage while Monroe had a hitting percentage of .368.
Jenny Shelley (Port Allegany, Pa./Port Allegany) dished out 31 assists with six kills and five digs.
Lenora Boyer (Delaware, Ohio/Delaware Christian) notched eight kills and five digs.
Megan Sweeny (Freeport, Pa./Freeport Area) had a team-high 14 digs while Haley Macko and
Macey Garland (Mineral Ridge, Ohio/Mineral Ridge) added nine and eight digs apiece.
Madison Krumpleman and Marisa Meyer both collected kill-dig double-doubles for the Saints.
The Tomcats (6-10, 1-5 PAC) will travel to New Wilmington, Pa. on Thursday to take on the Westminster Titans in a PAC matchup. The action is slated to begin at 7 p.m.
