GREENVILLE, Pa. – Four different Tomcats scored a goal Saturday to lead the Thiel College men's soccer team to a 4-0 non-conference victory over the visiting Penn State University Greater Allegheny Lions at Alumni Stadium.
Zachary Oliver (Bridgeport, Ohio/St. Clairsville) gave the Tomcats the lead 3:45 after the opening whistle on a shot to the top left side of net from inside the box after he received a pass from
Josh Evjene (Orrstown, Pa./Chambersburg). Thiel doubled its lead 25 minutes later when
Eric Mitchell (Barberton, Ohio/Barberton) scored on a free kick.
In the second half, Evjene scored on a header from inside the box in the 77
th minute on a pass from
Alexander Green (Cleveland, Ohio/Cardinal Mooney).
Christopher Felger (New Castle, Pa./Mohawk) closed out scoring in the 80
th minute.
Evjene led the Tomcats with a goal and an assist.
Christian Conrad (Barberton, Ohio/Central Catholic) and
Dalton Young (Salem, Ohio/West Branch) combined to make four saves and earn the shutout. Prakash Wagley made 10 saves for the Lions.
The Tomcats will travel to Defiance, Ohio, Tuesday to face the Defiance Yellow Jackets. The non-conference game is scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m.
