ERIE, Pa. – The Thiel College softball team lost a pair of non-conference games on the road to the Penn State Behrend Lions Wednesday. Thiel lost the first game 7-2 and the second game 6-1.
A.J. Corradi (Youngstown, Ohio/Austintown Fitch) led the Tomcats in the first game with a 2-RBI single in the sixth inning.
Amanda Auxier (Parma Heights, Ohio/Valley Forge) and
Alexa Fike (Export, Pa./Franklin Regional) also tallied one single apiece.
Tomcat freshman
Isabella Bungo (Pittsburgh, Pa./Fox Chapel) allowed just two hits over 3 2/3 innings of scoreless relief work in the first game. She struck out one and allowed one walk.
Miranda Reesman (Leechburg, Pa./Leechburg) led the Tomcats at the plate in the second game with an RBI-double down the right field line in the seventh inning. Corradi also doubled in the second game while
Alana Callahan (Austintown, Ohio/Austintown Fitch) singled.
The Tomcats will take on the Thomas More Saints on the road on Saturday. The first game of the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) doubleheader is slated to begin at 1 p.m.
