GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College men's volleyball team dropped a three set match (28-30, 19-25, 20-25) to the Eastern Mennonite Royals in Continental Volleyball Conference (CVC) action Saturday afternoon at Beeghly Gymnasium.
Zach Rombach (Severn, Md./Archbishop Spalding) dished out a team-high 36 assists for the Tomcats.
Cody Patterson (Canonsburg, Pa./Canon-McMillan) notched 11 kills while
Thad Paunovich (Avonmore, Pa./Kiski Area),
Nate Roche (Cochranton, Pa./Cochranton) and
Regan Hess (Burlington, Wis./Wetosha Central) each recorded eight kills. Hess added four blocks in the loss. Rombach and Paunovich each dropped two service aces on the Royals.
On defense, Roche and
Jeffrey Coffy (Castle Shannon, Pa./Keystone Oaks) each collected seven digs for the Tomcats.
William Ragland led the Royals with a game-high 14 kills.
The Tomcats will be back in action Tuesday when they take on the Juniata Eagles in a CVC contest. The match is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
