GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College men's volleyball team suffered a three-set defeat (20-25, 25-27, 18-25) to the Marymount University Saints in a Continental Volleyball Conference (CVC) matchup Friday night at Beeghly Gymnasium.
Junior outside hitter Cody Patterson (Canonsburg, Pa./Canon-McMillan) recorded a match-high 15 kills on the day on 27 attacks. Patterson also had seven digs and a service ace. Thad Paunovich (Avonmore, Pa./Kiski Area) had eight kills while Zach Rombach (Severn, Md./Archbishop Spalding) notched 30 assists.
Defensively, Jeffrey Coffy (Castle Shannon, Pa./Keystone Oaks) and Nate Roche (Cochranton, Pa./Cochranton) both added seven digs in the contest.
T.J. Wiechecki led the Saints with 11 kills.
The Tomcats will be back in action Saturday when they take on the Eastern Mennonite Royals in a conference clash. The action is slated to start at 2 p.m. at Beeghly Gymnasium.
