NEWARK, N.J. – The Thiel College men's volleyball team fell to the No. 4-ranked Rutgers-Newark Scarlet Raiders in three sets (14-25 10-25, 23-25) in a Continental Volleyball Conference (CVC) contest Saturday.
Zach Rombach (Severn, Md./Archbishop Spalding) earned his third double-double of the season. Rombach dished out 23 assists along with 10 digs for the Tomcats.
Cody Patterson (Canonsburg, Pa./Canon-McMillan) recorded 12 kills, tying the match-high.
Nate Roche (Cochranton, Pa./Cochranton) tallied eight kills while
Regan Hess (Burlington, Wis./Wetosha Central) added five kills.
Corey Pieper had 12 kills for the Scarlet Raiders.
The Tomcats will return to action Saturday, March 5 at 2 p.m. when they travel to Owings Mills, Md. to take on the No. 7-ranked Stevenson Mustangs.
