GROVE CITY, Pa. – The Thiel College men's basketball team fell 85-67 to the Grove City Wolverines in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) matchup Saturday.
Luke Kochka (Monroeville, Pa. /Gateway) netted 25 points for the Tomcats. He knocked down four three-pointers, grabbed five rebounds and recorded three assists. Khari Bess (Waldorf, Md./Maurice J. McDonough) recorded 19 points, five rebounds and four steals. Mert Ozkaynak (Izmir, Turkey/T.C. Williams) scored 11 points and came up with four rebounds.
Demetris Lafontant (Orlando, Fla./Osceola) pulled down a game-high nine rebounds while Clandell Cetoute (Wellington, Fla./Wellington) and Aaron Burton (Colesville, Md./Springbrook) had five rebounds in the loss.
Andrew Beckman led the Wolverines with 18 points.
The Tomcats (12-13, 10-8 PAC) clinched the sixth seed in the PAC Championship Tournament. The Tomcats will travel to Bethany to take on the Bison in the tournament quarterfinals on Tuesday, Feb. 23 at 7 p.m.
