WAYNESBURG, Pa. – The Thiel College men's basketball team's five-game winning streak stalls on the road against the Waynesburg Yellow Jackets as the Tomcats fall 71-64 in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) contest Wednesday night.
Leandra Jackson (Boardman, Ohio/Boardman) led the Tomcats with 16 points. Jackson also pulled down five rebounds.
Khari Bess (Waldorf, Md./Maurice J. McDonough) recorded 12 points with four rebounds and two steals.
Luke Kochka (Monroeville, Pa. /Gateway) was a point away from a double-double, grabbing 10 boards and scoring nine points.
Avril Campbell (Dumfries, Va./Potomac),
Clandell Cetoute (Wellington, Fla./Wellington) and
Mert Ozkaynak (Izmir, Turkey/T.C. Williams) each netted eight points in the loss. Cetoute and Campbell both secured six rebounds while Cetoute added four blocks.
Five Yellow Jackets scored double digits, led by B.J. Durham, who scored 18 points.
The Tomcats (11-11, 9-6 PAC) will return home on Saturday, Feb. 13 when they take on the Westminster Titans in a conference showdown. Tip will follow the women's game at 3 p.m.
