GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College women's volleyball team avenge an earlier loss in the season to the Chatham Cougars in a three-set sweep (25-14, 25-15, 25-16) in Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) action.
Lenora Boyer (Delaware, Ohio/Delaware Christian) and
Jessica Monroe (Massillon, Ohio/Massillon Washington) both tallied double-digit kills in the victory. Boyer hit .545 with a team-high 12 kills on 22 attacks while Monroe hit notched 10 kills on 17 swings for a .529 hitting percentage. Monroe also added four total blocks.
Shelby Friedel (Columbia Station, Ohio/Columbia) collected six kills in the middle while
Peyton Allen (Mineral Ridge, Ohio/Mineral Ridge) had five kills and two service aces along with a team-high 17 digs in the win.
Jenny Shelley (Port Allegany, Pa./Port Allegany) dished out a game-high 35 assists for the Tomcats.
Megan Sweeny (Freeport, Pa./Freeport Area) dug out 10 Cougar attacks while
Morgan Reisz (Canonsburg, Pa./Bishop Canevin) recorded seven digs and three service aces.
Justyne Lasher had 19 kills for the Cougars.
The Tomcats (10-16, 4-10 PAC) will hit the road Saturday for a tri-match against the Waynesburg Yellow Jackets and the Pitt-Greensburg Bobcats. The match from the Rudy Marisa Fieldhouse will begin at 11 a.m.
