GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College men's soccer team scored four unanswered goals Wednesday, erasing an early deficit, to earn a 4-1 non-conference victory over the Pitt Bradford Panthers at Alumni Stadium.
Jah Wilson put the Panthers up early, but the Tomcats knotted up the score before halftime when
Zackary Hershberger (Greenville, Pa./Greenville) scored on a header off
Zachary Oliver (Bridgeport, Ohio/St. Clairsville)'s corner kick.
Three different Tomcats scored in the second half.
Jon Fennick (New Castle, Pa./Neshannock ) scored the go-ahead goal near the 60-minute mark off
Jordan Lilley (Jamestown, Ohio/Greeneview)'s throw in. Lilley also assisted on
Dominic Walker (Kent, Ohio/Field)'s goal, which was scored with less than nine minutes remaining in regulation.
Josh Evjene (Orrsville, Pa./Chambersburg) closed out scoring on a header with less than five minutes remaining in the contest on a pass from Oliver. Lilley and Oliver both finished with two assists on the night.
Dalton Young (Salem, Ohio/West Branch) earned his first win of the season after making a pair of saves in 90 minutes of work. Colin Frownfelter, who made five saves, absorbed the loss.
Thiel (2-4) will take on Mount Aloysius College on the road Saturday at noon.
