GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College baseball team earned a 13-10 victory over the Thomas More Saints in a nine-inning Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) contest Thursday afternoon at Tomcat Park.
Thiel scored in every inning except for the first. The Tomcats scored two runs in the second, one in the third, four in the fourth, one apiece in the fifth and sixth innings, and two apiece in the eighth and ninth frames.
Cody Trinch (Franklin, Pa./Franklin), Trent Mosley (South Euclid, Ohio/Brush), Brian Genco (Strongsville, Ohio/Strongsville), and Dan Koller (Euclid, Ohio/Lake Catholic) each had three hits on the day for the Tomcats. Trick and Mosley also scored three runs apiece.
Matt Elko (Middlefield, Ohio/Berkshire) improved to 7-2 on the season with the win. He allowed four earned runs on eight hits in five innings while striking out five Saints.
Thiel improved to 24-9 and 13-5 in the PAC while Thomas More fell to 22-8 and 14-4 in the conference. Thiel will begin a three-game conference series against the Bethany Bison Friday with a single nine-inning game at Tomcat Park. The first pitch is scheduled for 4 p.m.
