MEADVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel Tomcats were defeated by the Allegheny Gators 11-3 in a nine-inning non-conference game Thursday.
Brian Genco (Strongsville, Ohio/Strongsville) and Ryan Brumbaugh (New Wilmington, Pa./Wilmington) each had two hits for the Tomcats. Genco hit an RBI-single in the second inning that scored Matt Elko (Middlefield, Ohio/Berkshire) from second. Dan Koller (Euclid, Ohio/Lake Catholic) also had an RBI in the game, scoring Genco in the top of the eighth on a double to left center.
Ben Murray had the big bat for Allegheny. He drove in four runs, three on a home run down the right field line.
The Tomcats (22-8, 12-5 PAC) will return to action Friday when they take on the Penn State-Behrend Lions at Tomcat Park. The first pitch of the nine-inning non-conference contest is set for 4 p.m.
