GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College baseball team cruised to an 11-4 non-conference victory over the Penn State-Behrend Lions Friday afternoon at Tomcat Park.
The Lions plated three runs in the top of the third before the Tomcats responded with 11 unanswered runs.
Brian Genco (Strongsville, Ohio/Strongsville) paced Thiel's offense going 3-for-4 with two RBIs. Trent Mosley (South Euclid, Ohio/Brush) went 2-for-3 with an RBI-double in the fifth and three runs scored. Ryan Brumbaugh (New Wilmington, Pa./Wilmington) also had two hits in the victory.
Jaden Nozicka (Portage, Mich./Portage Central) recorded his fifth win. He struck out two batters in seven innings.
The Tomcats (23-8) will hit the road Sunday to take on the Marietta Pioneers. The game is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
