WAYNESBURG, Pa. – The Thiel Tomcats improved to 7-1 in the Ohio River Lacrosse Conference (ORLC) Wednesday with a 19-4 road victory over the Waynesburg Yellow Jackets.
Cassy Mahdi (Odenton, Md./Arundel) and
Emily Harrigan (West Hartford, Conn./Hall) led the Tomcats with five goals apiece while Mahdi also tacked on a pair of assists. Also for the Tomcats,
Sharr Martin (San Diego, Calif./The Preuss School UCSD) recorded five points (2G, 3A) while
Jennifer Rickens (Pittsburgh, Pa./Chartiers Valley) and
Jenna Simanovsky (Plainsboro, N.J./West Windsor-Plainsboro North) scored two goals apiece.
Abby Spriggs (Westminster, Md./Westminster) made four saves for the Tomcats and earned the win in 30 minutes of work in the first half.
Amy Boxer (Erie, Pa./Villa Maria) also made three saves for the Tomcats in the second half.
Jess Rains paced the Yellow Jackets with two goals.
The Tomcats (9-6, 7-1 ORLC) will close out the regular season on the road Saturday against the Franklin Grizzlies. The contest is slated to begin at noon.
