FRANKLIN, Ind. – The Thiel College women's lacrosse team concluded the regular season Saturday with a 16-14 Ohio River Lacrosse Conference (ORLC) victory on the road over the Franklin Grizzlies.
The Tomcats took an early 2-0 lead Saturday and never trailed the rest of the way.
Emily Harrigan (West Hartford, Conn./Hall) led the Tomcats with six goals and an assist (7 points) while
Cassy Mahdi (Odenton, Md./Arundel) scored three goals to go along with an assist (4 points).
Jenna Simanovsky (Plainsboro, N.J./West Windsor-Plainsboro North) (2G),
Sharr Martin (San Diego, Calif./The Preuss School UCSD) (1G, 1A) and
Paige Onomastico (Pittsburgh, Pa./Chartiers Valley ) (2G) also recorded multi-point games for the Tomcats.
Abby Spriggs (Westminster, Md./Westminster) earned the win. She made four saves in a little less than 30 minutes of work in the first half.
Amy Boxer (Erie, Pa./Villa Maria) also made eight saves for Thiel in 30-plus minutes of action.
Hannah Grow led the Grizzlies with five points (4G, 1A) while Lexi Ingram tallied four points (3G, 1A). Kayanna Wolter made eight saves but suffered the loss.
The Tomcats finished the regular season with an overall record of 10-6. Thiel went 8-1 in ORLC play.
