HANOVER, Ind. – The Thiel College women's lacrosse team improved to 4-0 in Ohio River Lacrosse Conference (ORLC) play Saturday with a 17-3 road win over the Hanover Panthers.
The Panthers scored the opening goal Saturday, but Thiel responded with nine straight goals and never looked back.
Emily Harrigan (West Hartford, Conn./Hall) led the Tomcats with four goals while adding two assists.
Cassy Mahdi (Odenton, Md./Arundel) and
Jenna Simanovsky (Plainsboro, N.J./West Windsor-Plainsboro North) also notched hat tricks for the Tomcats while
Sharr Martin (San Diego, Calif./The Preuss School UCSD) scored two goals and tallied five assists (7 points).
Kelsey Gough paced Hanover with two goals.
Amy Boxer (Erie, Pa./Villa Maria) made two saves and earned the win for the Tomcats in 30 minutes of work.
Abby Spriggs (Westminster, Md./Westminster) made one save for the Tomcats in the second half.
Thiel (5-3, 4-0 ORLC) will travel to Columbus, Ohio on Saturday, March 28 to take on Capital University. The game is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
