GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College women's lacrosse team cruise to an 18-1 victory over the Franciscan University Barons in the 2015 home opener inside the Rissell-Schreyer Dome on Wednesday night.
Jenna Simonovsky and
Cassy Mahdi (Odenton, Md./Arundel) each scored four goals for the Tomcats. Simonovsky had nine draw controls, five ground balls and three caused turnovers. Mahdi had four ground balls, three draw controls and two caused turnovers.

Bradleigh Williams (Lusby, Md./Patuxent),
Hannah Stelmach (Reading, Pa./Governor Mifflin),
Sharr Martin (San Diego, Calif./The Preuss School UCSD) and
Jennifer Rickens (Pittsburgh, Pa./Chartiers Valley) each scored two goals a piece. Martin also assisted on four goals, while Stelmach assisted on two Tomcat scores.
Amy Boxer (Erie, Pa./Villa Maria) picked up the win for the Tomcats, saving four shots.
Jessica Bestgen scored the lone Baron goal in the 22
nd minute of the first half off of an assist by Lauren Noce.
The Tomcats (1-0) will be back in action on Saturday, February 28 at 1 p.m. when they take on the College of Mount St. Joseph Lions in a Ohio River Lacrosse Conference contest.
