GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College women's volleyball team scored a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) victory in a four-set (25-10, 14-25, 25-17, 25-21) victory over the Chatham Cougars Tuesday night.
The Tomcat attack totaled 52 kills, led by Freshmen
Shelby Friedel (Columbia Station, Ohio/Columbia) and
Peyton Allen (Mineral Ridge, Ohio/Mineral Ridge). Both players recorded had a career-high 11-kill performance. Allen earned her first career double-double by adding 12 digs and a solo block while Friedel also had two solo blocks.
Jenny Shelley (Port Allegany, Pa./Port Allegany) notched her fifth double-double of the season with 38 assists and 17 digs.
Lenora Boyer (Delaware, Ohio/Delaware Christian) had nine kills and two service aces while
Danielle Gomula (Northfield, Ohio/Trinity) and
Macy Jordan (York, Pa./York Suburban) each had six kills in the victory.
Megan Sweeny (Freeport, Pa./Freeport Area) dug out 17 Cougar attacks and
Ashley Baer (Cambridge Springs, Pa./Cambridge Springs) chipped in with 13 digs.
Katelyn Ganos had a team-high seven kills with 18 digs for the Cougars.
The Tomcats will take part in a tri-match in Latrobe, Pa. on Saturday, Oct. 17 against the Saint Vincent Bearcats and the Oberlin Yeowomen. The action is slated for an 11 a.m. start inside the Carey Center.
