GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College women's volleyball team dropped a four set decision (13-25, 22-25, 25-22, 23-25) to Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) rival Grove City Thursday night inside Beeghly Gymnasium.
Five Tomcats collected more than five kills in the match, led by Senior
Hannah Budzowski (New Castle, Pa./Shenango). Budzowski had a team-high seven kills, along with four block assists.
Danielle Gomula (Northfield, Ohio/Trinity) and
Peyton Allen (Mineral Ridge, Ohio/Mineral Ridge) each collected six kills respectively while
Shelby Friedel (Columbia Station, Ohio/Columbia) and
Jenny Shelley (Port Allegany, Pa./Port Allegany) knocked down five kills.
Shelley also notched her third double-double of the season in the loss with 22 assists and 14 digs. Defensively,
Ashley Baer (Cambridge Springs, Pa./Cambridge Springs) led the Tomcat defense with 26 digs. Allen added 19 digs on defense.
Laura Buchanan had a match-high 13 kills for the Wolverines.
The Tomcats will be back in action Wednesday, Oct. 7 at 7 p.m. when they host the Bethany Bison inside Beeghly Gymnasium in a PAC play.
