GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College men's basketball team suffered a 60-55 defeat to the Saint Vincent Bearcats in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) matchup at Beeghly Gymnasium Wednesday.
Junior guard Khari Bess (Waldorf, Md./Maurice J. McDonough) led all scorers with 18 points on 8-of-18 shooting. Bess also had five steals and three assists. Freshman forwards Avril Campbell (Dumfries, Va./Potomac) and Clandell Cetoute (Wellington, Fla./Wellington) each pulled down nine rebounds. Cetoute also scored eight points and swatted four Saint Vincent shots.
Four Bearcats scored double figures, led by Pat Jones who scored 15 points. Sean Kett had a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Thiel outshot Saint Vincent (.426-.328) and scored more points in the paint (36-28). The Tomcats' largest lead was seven with 5:38 remaining in the first half.
The Tomcats (9-8, 5-3 PAC) will be back in action Saturday when they host the Geneva Golden Tornadoes in another conference matchup. Tipoff is set for 3 p.m. The game can be seen live on the PAC Sports Network by clicking here.
