GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College men's basketball team scored a 69-58 victory over the Geneva Golden Tornadoes in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) matchup at Beeghly Gymnasium Saturday.
Four Tomcats scored double digits. Freshman forward
Clandell Cetoute (Wellington, Fla./Wellington) went a perfect 7-for-7 from the field, leading the Tomcats with 15 points. He also pulled down six rebounds and blocked two shots. Juniors
Khari Bess (Waldorf, Md./Maurice J. McDonough) and
Luke Kochka (Monroeville, Pa. /Gateway) recorded 11 points each. Kochka also added seven assists and six rebounds while Bess had five assists, four rebounds and three steals. Freshman
Berto Dryden (Woodstock, Ga./Whitefield Academy) also scored 10 points off the bench.
Ethan Adamcysk scored a game-high 18 points for the Golden Tornadoes.
The Tomcats never trailed in the game and shot 48.2 percent from the field. Thiel outrebounded Geneva 35-30 and scored more points in the paint (40-26), points off turnovers (21-12) and second chance points (10-7).
The Tomcats (10-8, 6-3 PAC) will wrap up their four-game homestand Wednesday when they take on the Washington & Jefferson Presidents in a conference contest. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
