WAYNESBURG, Pa. – The Thiel College men's basketball team suffered a 71-50 defeat at the hands of the Waynesburg Yellow Jackets in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) contest Wednesday.
Justin Dade (Upper Marlboro, Md./Bishop McNamara) and Berto Dryden (Woodstock, Ga./Whitefield Academy) each scored eight points for the Tomcats. Dade recorded six rebounds and two assists. Eric Mallinger (Pittsburgh, Pa./Taylor Allderdice) grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds while Khari Bess (Waldorf, Md./Maurice J. McDonough) scored seven points and stole the ball five times. Josh Johnson (Monroeville, Pa./Imani Christian Academy) also pulled down five rebounds.
B.J. Durham led the Yellow Jackets with 11 points.
The loss snaps Thiel's three game winning streak and a four game winning streak against conference opponents.
The Tomcats (7-7, 4-2 PAC) will be back in action Saturday when they travel to Grove City to take on the Wolverines. The PAC contest is set to begin at 3 p.m.
