Box Score GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College men's soccer team earned its first victory of the 2014 season, defeating the visiting Mt. Aloysius Mounties 3-2 under the lights of Alumni Stadium Friday night.
The Tomcats opened scoring when senior
Yosief Woldegebriel (Warmister, Pa./William Tennent) put a cross from fellow senior
Zach Kubec (Geneva, Ohio/Geneva) into the back of the net. The Mounties tied it up 30 seconds before the end of the first half when Kyle Marshall scored on an assist from Jim Smith.
Early in the second half, the Tomcats scored two unanswered goals when
Jordan Lilley (Jamestown, Ohio/Greeneview) and
Francis Ahia (Penn Hills, Pa./Penn Hills) each put a goal away just over two minutes apart from each other. The Mounties cut the deficit when Graham Hunter scored in the 83rd minute off an assist from Kevin Ouellette, but the goal proved to be too little, too late.
