Box Score GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College men's soccer team lost its home opener to the Medaille Mavericks Friday at Alumni Stadium, 3-1.
 
Cory Carter put the Mavericks on top on a pass from Austin Tom 92 seconds into regulation. Junior Geegba scored 16 minutes later and Austin Tom tacked on a penalty-kick goal later in the first half to give the Mavericks a 3-0 lead at the half.
 
Thiel cut the lead down to 3-1 with 25 minutes remaining in regulation when senior forward Troy Elsea (Fowler, Ohio/Badger) scored his first goal of the season on a pass from freshman Francis Jackson (Cedarhurst, Pa./Mount Lebanon).
 
The Tomcats (0-1) will return to action Saturday when they host the Franciscan Barons at Alumni Stadium. Kickoff is slated for 1 p.m.
