Tomcats fall to Bison

Freshman center fielder Alana Callahan notched two hits for the Tomcats Saturday in their second game against the Bethany Bison.
Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 BETHANY, W.Va. – The Thiel softball team lost a pair of Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) contests Saturday on the road to the Bethany Bison. Bethany won the first game 3-0 before earning the sweep with a 9-1 win in the second game in six innings.
 
Bison Kelsey Bish refused to give up a run in the first game while allowing just two hits. She struck out six and walked two batters. Allison Williams (Corry, Pa./Corry) absorbed the loss. She allowed three runs, only one of which was earned, on 11 hits. Williams struck out one and walked one.
 
Bish also earned the win in the second game, her sixth of the season. She allowed one earned run on nine hits in Game 2 while striking out five and walking one. Amanda Callahan (Austintown, Ohio/Austintown Fitch) took the loss in the second game. She collected five strikeouts through 5 2-3 innings.
 
Ashley Dolan (Export, Pa./Franklin Regional) went 2-for-3 at the plate in Game 2 with a run scored. Madison Cheek (Milan, Ohio/Edison) also went 2-for-3 in the second game while Alana Callahan (Austintown, Ohio/Austintown Fitch) went 2-for-4.
 
The Tomcats (12-14, 5-5 PAC) will be back in action Tuesday when they host the Westminster Titans at Tomcat Park. The first game of the PAC doubleheader is scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m.
