GREENVILLE, Pa. (July 20) -- Thiel College Softball head coach Michael Kernan has announced the programs Prospect Skills Camp, scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 23 at Tomcat Park.

Designed for players entering grades 8-12, the one-day camp offers aspiring collegiate student-athletes the opportunity to sharpen their skills while learning directly from the Thiel coaching staff in a competitive college-style environment. Throughout the day, campers will receive instruction in hitting, fielding, throwing, base running and defensive fundamentals while gaining valuable insight into the expectations of NCAA Division III softball.

There will be a Pitchers Prospect Session from 10 - 11:15 a.m. at a cost of $30. The Prospect Skills Camp will run from 11:30 a.m. - 3 p.m. at a rate of $60. Athletes can register for both sessions at a discounted cost of only $75.

Participants should bring a glove, bat, helmet, spikes, water and any additional personal softball equipment. For the Pitching Session, pitchers must bring their own catcher.

All prospects will work through position-specific instruction, skill development drills and live competition designed to evaluate and improve all aspects of their game. The camp provides players with an opportunity to experience Thiel's softball facilities, interact with the Tomcat coaching staff and learn more about the college recruiting process while competing alongside other prospective student-athletes.
