Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 GREENVILLE, Pa. – Amanda Callahan (Austintown, Ohio/Austintown Fitch) delivered a walkoff triple in Game 1 before earning the win in the second game Monday to lead the Thiel Tomcats to a doubleheader sweep over the Waynesburg Yellow Jackets in their Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) opener at Tomcat Park.
 
Thiel won the first game Monday 2-1 before earning the sweep with a 12-8 victory in the second game.
 
The Tomcats trailed the Yellow Jackets 1-0 heading into the bottom of the seventh in Game 1, but they had enough firepower at the end to win in dramatic fashion. Molly Jo Everett (Medina, Ohio/Highland) got the Tomcats started in the seventh with a leadoff double to left field, and Ali House (Liberty, Ohio/Liberty) followed with a single through the left side.
 
Amanda Callahan (Austintown, Ohio/Austintown Fitch) stepped to the plate with one out and runners at the corners, delivering the game-winning hit, which was a rocket three-bagger to left center field.
 
Amanda Callahan (Austintown, Ohio/Austintown Fitch) went 2-for-4 at the plate in the first game with two RBIs while House and Danielle Massengill (North Bend, Wash./Mt. Si) both went 2-for-3.
 
Allison Williams (Corry, Pa./Corry) earned the win in the first game, which was her fourth on the season. She allowed one earned run on seven hits while registering two strikeouts.
 
While runs were hard to come by in the first game, they came early and often in the second game, with the Tomcats winning the high-scoring contest, 12-8.
 
The Yellow Jackets scored four runs in the first inning, but the Tomcats doubled their effort with eight runs in the second to take a 4-run lead. Alana Callahan (Austintown, Ohio/Austintown Fitch) and Bailey Ahern (Bonney Lake, Wash./Bonney Lake) notched the key hits for Thiel in the second with a 2-RBI single and a 2-RBI-triple, respectively.
 
Thiel added a run in the third on an Ashley Dolan (Export, Pa./Franklin Regional) single. Dolan also recorded an RBI on a sacrifice fly while Madison Cheek (Milan, Ohio/Edison) knocked an RBI-double in a 2-run fifth inning for the Tomcats.
 
The Yellow Jackets scored three runs in the bottom of the fifth to cut Thiel's lead down to 11-7. However, Thiel picked up an extra insurance run in the top of the seventh on an RBI-triple by Massengill, and Amanda Callahan (Austintown, Ohio/Austintown Fitch) retired Waynesburg in order in the bottom half of the seventh to preserve the win.
 
Amanda Callahan (Austintown, Ohio/Austintown Fitch) threw all seven innings in the second game to earn her third win of the season. She struck out eight and walked five.
 
Massengill went 4-for-5 in Game 2 with three runs scored and two RBIs. Dolan went 3-for-4 with three RBIs and a run scored while Amanda Callahan (Austintown, Ohio/Austintown Fitch) went 3-for-5 with two runs scored.
 
The Tomcats (9-5, 2-0 PAC) will return to action Tuesday when they travel to Latrobe, Pa., to take on the Saint Vincent Bearcats in a PAC doubleheader. The first game of the day is slated to begin at 3:30 p.m.
