WASHINGTON, Pa. – The Thiel College men's basketball team earned a 61-53 victory Sunday afternoon against the Washington & Jefferson Presidents in Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) action.

Khari Bess (Waldorf, Md./Maurice J. McDonough) led the Tomcats with 16 points and four assists. Bess also pulled down six rebounds and stole the ball three times.

Josh Johnson (Monroeville, Pa./Imani Christian Academy) and Eric Mallinger (Pittsburgh, Pa./Taylor Allderdice) chipped in 11 points each and grabbed seven and six rebounds respectively. Mallinger had three steals and two blocks. Luke Kochka (Monroeville, Pa. /Gateway) added seven points and six rebounds off the bench.

Mike Resnik paced the Presidents with 14 points while Tyler Haas scored nine points and handed out six assists.

The game was tied at 25 at halftime.  Tomcats scored 26 points off of turnovers and the bench added 20 points.

The Tomcats (4-5, 2-1 PAC) will be back in action Tuesday, Dec. 30 at 7 p.m. when they make the short trip north to take on Division II Edinboro University of Pennsylvania.
