GROVE CITY, Pa. – The Thiel College women's volleyball team swept Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) rival Grove City 3-0 (25-22, 25-18, 25-17) Saturday.
Alex Hall (Norwin, Pa./Norwin) secured her 10th double-double of the season with a match-high 12 kills along with 13 digs. Lenora Boyer (Delaware, Ohio/Delaware Christian) had nine kills while Lauren Downs (Mentor, OH/Mentor) had 17 digs. Jenny Shelley (Port Allegany, Pa./Port Allegany) handed out 27 assists for the Tomcats.
Natalija Galens had eight kills for the Wolverines while Frances Trenta had a match-high 20 digs.
With the win, the Tomcats (13-16, 10-8 PAC) clinched the fourth seed in the 2014 PAC Championship Tournament and will host the fifth-seeded Westminster Titans in the first round. The match will take place Tuesday, Nov. 4 at 7 p.m.
