GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College women's volleyball team earned a 3-2 (16-25, 25-17, 23-25, 25-23, 15-12) Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) victory Wednesday over the Saint Vincent Bearcats.
Tomcat senior Alex Hall (Norwin, Pa./Norwin) secured her seventh double-double of the season with 26 digs and 16 kills. Sophomore Jenny Shelley (Port Allegany, Pa./Port Allegany) also recorded a double-double with a game-best 43 assists to go along with 23 digs.
Also for Thiel, Veronica Brueggman (South Park, Pa./South Park) and Kristen Gaut notched nine and eight kills, respectively. Brueggman also added three solo blocks, including the match-clinching block in the fifth set, and two aces. Ashley Baer (Cambridge Springs, Pa./Cambridge Springs) posted 12 digs and four aces.
Jordan Pogue and Lindsie Welteroth each had eight kills for the Bearcats. Anna Christy tallied 27 assists and 25 digs to earn a double-double.
The Tomcats (8-13, 5-5 PAC) will be back in action Tuesday, Oct. 14 when they travel to Washington, Pa. to take on the Washington & Jefferson Presidents in a conference showdown. The match is scheduled to start at 7 p.m.
