WASHINGTON, Pa. – The Thiel College women's volleyball team earned a 3-1 (24-26, 25-23, 25-21, 25-19) Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) victory Tuesday on the road against the Washington & Jefferson Presidents.

Six Tomcats had more than six kills in the game. Senior Alex Hall (Norwin, Pa./Norwin) recorded a career-best 19 kills along with 20 digs while Sophomore Jenny Shelley (Port Allegany, Pa./Port Allegany) dished out 42 assists along with 21 digs and seven kills. Both Hall and Shelley earned their eighth double-doubles of the season.

Freshman Megan Sweeny (Freeport, Pa./Freeport Area) had 10 kills in the game, the first double-digit kill game of her young career. Also for Thiel, Veronica Brueggman (South Park, Pa./South Park) recorded 11 digs and eight kills while Lauren Downs (Mentor, OH/Mentor) and Ashley Baer (Cambridge Springs, Pa./Cambridge Springs) dug out 24 and 16 shots, respectively.

Nicole Bishwaty led the Presidents in kills with 12 and Allison Means had a game-high 35 digs.

The Tomcats (9-13, 6-5 PAC) will be back in action on Thursday, Oct. 16 at 7 p.m. when they travel to Bethany College to take on the Bison.
