GREENVILLE, Pa. –
Chey Ross (Sigel, Pa./Brookville) scored nine minutes and 20 seconds into overtime Saturday to lift the Thiel women's soccer team to a 2-1 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) victory over the Saint Vincent Bearcats at Alumni Stadium.
Ross headed the game-winning goal into the net after
Morgan Berg (Cleveland, Ohio/Rocky River) clanged a shot off the cross bar on a free kick.
Berg scored Thiel's first goal of the contest 58:26 into the contest when she picked the low right corner on a penalty shot.
Elly Colvin tied up the contest with roughly 17 minutes remaining in regulation, setting the stage for Ross' overtime game-winner.
Kim Gentry (Madison, Ohio/Madison) made seven saves to earn the win for the Tomcats. Meghan Lyden made four saves for the Bearcats.
The Tomcats honored six seniors prior to Saturday's game, including:
Nicole Jeschelnig (Madison, Ohio/Madison), Alliana and
Megan Hardgrove (North Canton, Ohio/Hoover),
Suelen Gutierrez (Geneva, Ohio/Geneva),
Monica Ochoa (North Royalton, Ohio/Padua Franciscan) and Ross.
The Tomcats improved to 3-2 in the PAC with Saturday's win.
Thiel will host the Bethany Bison on Wednesday at Alumni Stadium. Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m.
