GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College women's soccer team were defeated Wednesday night by the visiting Bethany Bison 4-2 under the lights at Alumni Stadium.
The Tomcats had a strong first half going into halftime up 2-0 backed by goals three minutes apart from each other. Junior
Morgan Berg (Cleveland, Ohio/Rocky River) put in her 11
th goal of the season in the 29
th minute off of an assist by
Kaytee Candela (Geneva, Ohio/Lakeside).
Alliana Hardgrove (North Canton, Ohio/Hoover) scored in the 32
nd minute on an assist by
Monica Ochoa (North Royalton, Ohio/Padua Franciscan).
The Bison scored four unanswered goals in the second half. Julie Slezak knocked in two goals past the Tomcat goalkeeper while Madison Cochran and Michelle Paugh each added a goal. Michaela Hinerman chipped in an assist on Julie Slezak's first goal in the 61
st minute. Taylor Sasak made 13 stops for the Bison.
For the Tomcats,
Kim Gentry (Madison, Ohio/Madison) made six saves in the loss.
The Tomcats will travel to Crestview Hills, Ky. to take on the Thomas More Saints in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) matchup. The game is scheduled for a noon start on Sunday, Oct. 26.
