Nine Tomcats scored at least one goal in the women's lacrosse team's 18-0 win over Waynesburg University in the semifinals of the PAC Women's Lacrosse Championship Tournament Friday.
Emily Harrigan (West Hartford, Conn./Hall) led Thiel with four goals and an assist, while teammate
Kelley Bellia (Beaver Falls, Pa./Blackhawk) added four goals of her own.
In addition to Harrigan and Bellia,
Beth Snider (Pittsburgh, Pa./Shaler Area) recorded a hat trick, while
Cassy Mahdi (Odenton, Md./Arundel) (2G, 2A),
Hannah Stelmach (Reading, Pa./Governor Mifflin) (1G, 2A) and
Amanda Baur (Palmyra, N.J./Palmyra) (1G, 1A) each notched multi-point games for Thiel.
Abby Spriggs (Westminster, Md./Westminster), Asia Wallace (Annapolis, Md./Annapolis) and Amy Boxer (Erie, Pa./Villa Maria) all split time in the goal for Thiel, with Spriggs making three saves and recording the win.
The Tomcats (10-7) will return to Alumni Stadium for the PAC Women's Lacrosse Championship game Saturday at 2 p.m. Thiel will take on the winner of Washington and Jefferson and Saint Vincent.
