Box Score GREENVILLE, Pa. —The Tomcat women's lacrosse team set a school-record for most goals in a single-game in a 23-4 win over Waynesburg University on Wednesday.
With the win the Tomcats have now won six straight contests, the longest such streak in program history. Thiel has outscored their opponents 112-24 during the six-game winning streak.
Sophomore
Emily Harrigan (West Hartford, Conn./Hall) tied her own school-record with nine points in the win over Waynesburg. Earlier this season on March 18, Harrigan notched six goals and three assists in the 20-0 win over Franciscan.
Harrigan scored the first goal of the game in the 24

Beth Snider (Pittsburgh, Pa./Shaler Area). The Yellow Jackets (1-5) had an answer, as Toria Shepard tied the game just a minute and a half later. The Tomcats scored four straight from that point, with Harrigan accounting for three of them, and Thiel had a comfortable 5-1 lead with less than 20 minutes to play in the first half.
After a Waynesburg goal made it 5-2 with 18:41 left in the first half the Tomcats outscored the Yellow Jackets 18-2 from that point forward, including a 9-0 stretch in the second half to coast to the win.
In total, nine Tomcats including Harrigan scored, with
Cassy Mahdi (Odenton, Md./Arundel) accounting for five goals.
Hannah Stelmach (Reading, Pa./Governor Mifflin) and
Beth Snider (Pittsburgh, Pa./Shaler Area) chipped in four and three goals, respectively, while
Kelley Bellia (Beaver Falls, Pa./Blackhawk) added two goals.
Sharr Martin (San Diego, Calif./The Preuss School UCSD),
Amanda Baur (Palmyra, N.J./Palmyra),
Jenna Simanovsky (Plainsboro, N.J./West Windsor-Plainsboro North) and
Courtney Fatta (Lancaster, Pa./Penn Manor) each also found the back of the net for Thiel.
The Tomcats' crisp passing was the difference maker, as they notched 11 assists on 23 goals. Harrigan led the way with four assists while Martin and Snider each dished out two assists. Baur, Mahdi and Simanovsky also registered an assist each in the win.
The Tomcats will look to make it seven wins in a row on Friday when they travel to Wilmington, Ohio to take on Wilmington College of Ohio. The match is set to get underway at 7 p.m.
