Emily Harrigan (West Hartford, Conn./Hall) set a new standard for points in a single game Monday in the Thiel College women's lacrosse team's 20-0 win over Franciscan University of Steubenville at the Rissell-Schreyer Dome.
Harrigan recorded nine points (6G, 3A) in the win, besting teammate
Cassy Mahdi (Odenton, Md./Arundel)'s previous single-game record of eight points.
In addition to Harrigan, three other Tomcats recorded hat tricks on the day, including:
Beth Snider (Pittsburgh, Pa./Shaler Area) (4G, 3A),
Kenady Hubbard (Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada/Moon Area) (3G) and Mahdi (3G, 1A).
Hannah Stelmach (Reading, Pa./Governor Mifflin) (1G, 1A),
Sharr Martin (San Diego, Calif./The Preuss School UCSD) (1G, 2A) and
Amanda Baur (Palmyra, N.J./Palmyra) (1G, 1A) also notched multi-point games for Thiel.
Abby Spriggs (Westminster, Md./Westminster) and
Amy Boxer (Erie, Pa./Villa Maria), who played 30 minutes apiece in net, teamed up to record the shutout for the Tomcats.
The Tomcats (3-6) will be back in action Saturday when they travel to Hamburg, N.Y. to take on Hilbert College. The game is slated for a 1 p.m. start.
