GREENVILLE, Pa. – Alex Leonard scored three goals Saturday to lead visiting Pitt-Greensburg to a 4-2 victory over the Thiel Tomcats.
Leonard scored his first goal 18:17 into the first half on a pass from Sam Kuhn. The Tomcats got even a little over five minutes later when
Tanner Mesing (Freedom, Pa./Freedom) found the back of the net on a pass from
Zach Kubec (Geneva, Ohio/Geneva).
Leonard gave the lead back to the visiting Bobcats, 2-1, a little more than three minutes after Mesing's game-tying goal. Mike Dawdy extended the lead to 3-1 at the 29:14 mark, and Leonard notched his third goal of the game at the 30:36 mark.
Kubec notched Thiel's second goal of the game late in the second half on a pass from Connor Shanley.
Ethan Bayne (Palma Ceia, Fla./H.B. Plant) made two saves for Thiel. Pitt-Greensburg goalkeeper Andre Moskhalis also made two saves.
With the loss, the Tomcats fell to 2-2 on the season. They will travel to Buffalo, N.Y., Sunday to face D'Youville College.
