GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel Tomcats improved to 4-2 on the 2012-13 campaign Thursday with a 5-0 victory over Franciscan University of Steubenville at Alumni Stadium.
Troy Elsea (Fowler, Ohio/Badger) led the Tomcat offense with a pair of second-half goals that he scored 10 minutes apart.
Eric Wolf (Girard, Ohio/Liberty) opened scoring 4:49 into the contest.
Francis Ahia (Penn Hills, Pa./Penn Hills) made it a 2-0 game 18 minutes later when he notched his team-leading fourth goal of the season.
Rory Duncan (Chardon, Ohio/Chardon) recorded Thiel's third goal of the contest a little over three minutes into the second half on a pass from
Conor Shanley (Penn Hills, Pa. /Central Catholic). Shanley, who has four helpers so far this season, also assisted on Elsea's first goal.
Andrew Hindman (Dunedin, Fla./Dunedin) made one save and picked up the win in 67 minutes and 26 seconds of work.
The Tomcats (4-2, 0-0) will face Adrian College Saturday in the first game of the Tomcat Men's Soccer Tournament. Kickoff is set for noon at the Greenville Soccer Complex.
