BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Thiel College men's soccer squad registered a 2-0-shutout victory at D'Youville College on Sunday evening.

Thiel (3-2-0) assumed a 1-0 lead in the 14th minute of play as Jeff Swanson (Geneva, Ohio/Geneva) scored his first goal of the season, dribbling the ball into the box and blasting it by the defenseless Spartan goalkeeper.
 
Conor Shanley (Penn Hills, Pa. /Central Catholic) scored off of a Francis Ahia (Penn Hills, Pa./Penn Hills) assist in the 51^st minute to give the Tomcats a 2-0 lead and close out the scoring.

The Tomcats finished with an 10-8 advantage in shots over D'Youville (0-5-0) and both teams totaled three corner kicks a piece.

Andrew Hindman (Dunedin, Fla./Dunedin) finished with four saves for the Tomcats as he recorded his first shutout of the season.

Thiel returns to action on Thurday, Sept. 13, when they host the visiting Franciscan University of Steubenville. The first game of a scheduled doubleheader with the women's squad is scheduled for 3 p.m.
