WASHINGTON, Pa. – The women's lacrosse team (5-9) dropped their final home game of their inaugural season to Washington & Jefferson College by the score of 13-3.
The Tomcats took a quick 2-0 lead over the Presidents when
Tori Williamson (Spencerport, N.Y./Spencerport) connected with the back of the net at the 28:16 mark to give the Thiel their first goal of the game. At the 23:37 mark,
Sharr Martin (San Diego, Calif./The Preuss School UCSD) scored her 16th goal of the season when she scored from a
Cassy Mahdi (Odenton, Md./Arundel) pass.
The Presidents went into the half outscoring the Tomcats 12-10 while scoring five goals to make the score 5-2.
In the second half, Washington & Jefferson outscored Thiel 18-3 while tacking on eight more goals. Thiel's
Jenna Simanovsky (Plainsboro, N.J./West Windsor-Plainsboro North) scored from a free position shot at the 12 second mark to give the Tomcats their final goal of the game.
Offensively, the Presidents were paced by Brittany Fradkin who scored three goals and added an assist while teammates Brittney Oake and Liz Turcik had two goals apiece.
Thiel's
Asia Wallace (Annapolis, Md./Annapolis) had 13 saves in goal.
