GREENVILLE, Pa. – Amanda Callahan (Austintown, Ohio/Austintown Fitch) earned her fourth shutout of the season while Ang Masters (Arnold, Pa./Valley) had the most productive day of her freshman campaign for the Tomcat softball squad in their doubleheader sweep of Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) rival Geneva College Saturday afternoon at Tomcat Park, winning 4-3 in game one and 11-0 (6 inn.) in game two.

Callahan was fantastic in game two, moving her season record to 5-7 after allowing just two hits to go along with seven strikeouts.

Masters finished the series 5-for-7 with a home run, two doubles, four RBI and a pair of runs scored. Her game two home run was her team-best fourth of the season.

Molly Jo Everett (Medina, Ohio/Highland) led the offensive charge for Thiel (11-15, 6-4 PAC) in the second game, finishing 3-for-4 with a home run, 3 RBI and a run scored. Ashley Dolan (Export, Pa./Franklin Regional) and Becky Betteridge (Conneaut, Ohio/Conneaut) each added a pair of RBI in the six-inning shutout.

Dana Schnitzel and Mackenzie Kemerer were the lone Golden Tornadoes with hits in game two. Julie DiLonardo was handed her second loss of the day after giving up 11 runs (8 earned) on 12 hits in 6.0 innings.

A two-run fourth and another three runs in the fifth had the Tomcats out in front 5-0. Everett's three-run blast to left keyed a six-run sixth for Thiel to give them an 11-0 advantage.

A Thiel fielding miscue in the bottom of the fourth of game one led to two Geneva (18-14, 6-4 PAC) runs and a 2-0 lead for the visiting Golden Tornadoes after four.

Masters' one-out, two-run double in the bottom of the sixth followed an RBI groundout by Everett to put Thiel in front 3-2. The Tomcats were able to take of the Golden Tornadoes in the top of the seventh to preserve the one-run victory, their fourth such win of the season.

Lori Deem, Ashley Davis and Brittany Clark each had a hit for Geneva while DiLonardo suffered the loss, going 6.0 innings and allowing three runs on seven hits with six strikeouts.

Thiel returns to the diamond on Sunday, April 15 when it travels to Oberlin College for a 1 p.m. doubleheader.
