Everett's RBI double got things going for Thiel in its four-run third, and after Stasko's run-scoring double in the bottom of the frame, the Tomcats went into the fourth carrying a 7-1 lead.
The Titans scored a run in the fifth and two more in the sixth to pull to within two, 7-4. After recording a one-two-three top of the seventh the Titans plated two runs in the bottom of the frame to get to within one, 7-6, but a crafty catch on a foul ball by Everett was enough to preserve the run-one victory.
Game one saw Thiel fight back from a 2-0 deficit to score three runs in the fourth and another four in the six and head into the seventh with a 7-2 lead. Six Titans runs in the top of the seventh saw the visitors regain the lead, 8-7, but a pinch hit RBI single by
Ali House (Liberty, Ohio/Liberty) in the bottom of the frame would tie the game at 8-8, forcing extras.
A pair of costly two-run errors in the top of the eighth presented the Titans with four runs and helped push their lead to 12-8. Three straight outs in the bottom of the eighth closed it out for Westminster.
Chelsea Brown started on the mound for the Titans but did not figure in the decision after giving up eight runs (6 earned) on 10 hits in 7.0 innings. Carly Leffakis earned the win in relief of Brown and improved to 2-1 on the season, allowing just two hits in her 1.0 inning of work.

Thiel is back in action on Saturday, April 14 when it hosts Geneva College for a 1 p.m. PAC doubleheader.
