GREENVILLE, Pa. – The men's soccer team was dealt a 3-0 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) loss on Tuesday afternoon by Grove City College.
Richie Kocur's goal in the 23rd minute (23:01) of action broke a 0-0 deadlock and gave the Wolverines a 1-0 lead.
The Wolverines added two goals within the first three minutes of the second half to build a 3-0 cushion and go on to win by that very same score.
Grove City (6-7, 3-1) totaled a 24-9 advantage in shots and finished with an 8-1 edge in corner kicks.
Alex Ayer totaled a goal and three shots on goal for the Wolverines while Kyle Matherne finished with a goal and three total shots. The Wolverines' Chris Burgan made one stop in goal.
Thiel (4-8-2, 0-3-1) keeper
Andrew Hindman (Dunedin, Fla./Dunedin) corralled nine saves in the loss.
Jeff Swanson (Geneva, Ohio/Geneva), Luke Mesing (Freedom, Pa./Freedom ) and Tyler Strite (Fayetteville, Pa./Shalom Christian) each had two shots.
The Tomcats will return to action on Wednesday, Oct. 17 as PAC rival Washington & Jefferson College comes to Greenville. Game time is set for 4 p.m.
