Fennick paces Thiel in loss to Geneva

BEAVER FALLS, Pa. – The Thiel Tomcats suffered a 4-1 loss Saturday night against the Geneva Golden Tornadoes in their last contest of the season.
 
Geneva scored its first goal 39 seconds into the contest when Garrett Masters found the back of the net on a pass from John Shipley.
 
Daniel Cox made it 2-0 at the 9:20 mark on an assist from Masters. Geneva increased its lead to 3-0 with a little under 10 minutes remaining before halftime on Max Flick's marker from Keenan Barr.
 
Jon Fennick (New Castle, Pa./Neshannock ) cut Geneva's lead down to 3-1 at the 42:22 mark when he notched an unassisted goal. Fennick played in Saturday night's soccer game just a few hours after he served as the Thiel football team's placekicker.
 
Geneva's Teddy Krzywiecki closed out scoring with a goal at the 63:51 mark.
 
Joe Iorio made 14 saves for the Tomcats while Evan Biedenbach made two stops for Geneva.
 
Thiel finished the season with a 4-12-2 overall record and a 0-7-1 record in PAC play.
