The Tomcat men's soccer team earned a split at the Defiance Classic as they defeated Defiance College 1-0 on Sunday in Defiance, Ohio.
For most of the first half, the two teams played to a 0-0 tie until just 30 seconds left in the half when freshman midfielder
Eric Wolf (Girard, Ohio/Liberty) scored his first goal of the season to give the Tomcats the 1-0 lead going into the first half.
Despite being outshot 11-7 in the second half the Tomcats were able to hold on as sophomore goal keeper
Andrew Hindman (Dunedin, Fla./Dunedin) pitched his first shutout of the young season. Hindman finished the day with five saves including three in the second half.
The Tomcats (1-1) will be back in action on Tuesday as they travel to Mount Aloysius College. The game is scheduled for 6 p.m.
