GREENVILLE, Pa. – Forwards
Rory Duncan (Chardon, Ohio/Chardon) and
Francis Ahia (Penn Hills, Pa./Penn Hills) notched three points a piece with each scoring a goal and adding an assist as the Tomcat men's soccer program defeated D'Youville College 3-0 at Alumni Stadium Saturday.
Thiel owned the first half of play as they held the Spartans without a shot and had seven of their own in the half. In the 33
rd minute of play, Duncan notched the first goal of the game off a pass from Ahia to make the score 1-0 going into half time.
15 minutes into the second half, Duncan returned the favor as Ahia found the back of the net off of a pass from Duncan in the 61
st minute of play to extend the lead to 2-0. In the 80
th minute of action a pair of freshman hooked up for a score as
Allen Kuechenmeister (Pittsburgh, Pa./Taylor Allderdice) netted his first collegiate goal off a pass from
Troy Elsea (Fowler, Ohio/Badger) to round out the scoring 3-0.
Goalkeeper
Andrew Hindman (Dunedin, Fla./Dunedin) improved his record to 3-0 on the season as he and the defense held the Spartans at bay for 90 minutes to record their third shutout of the season.
The Tomcats will be back in action as part of a doubleheader with the women's program as they travel to Hiram College on Tuesday, Sept. 20. The game will immediately follow the women's contest that begins at 5 p.m.
