Men's Lacrosse Suffers First Loss

PONTIAC, Mich.- Albion scored seven goals in the first quarter on its way to a 21-2 win over visiting Thiel in a men's lacrosse game Sunday.

Both of Thiel's goals came in the second quarter as Andrew Shaver (Liverpool, N.Y., West Genesee) opened the quarter with an unassisted goal and Eddie Palmer (Cleveland, Ohio, Shaker Heights) closed it out by scoring off an assist from Francis Ahia (Penn Hills, Pa., Penn Hills) with 35 seconds left in the half.

Shaver's goal gives him a team-leading seven on the season. It was the fourth goal of the season for Palmer, while Ahia registered his team-high sixth assist of the year.

Tyler Kirkpatrick, Mitch Loney, Derek Lapointe, Stephen Treppa and Nick Dahlstrom scored three goals apiece for the Britons.

Thiel's Ricky Cannon faced 35 shots on goal, making 14 saves.

The Tomcats fall to 1-1 on the season. They will host Medaille in the Rissell-Schreyer Dome on Wednesday.
