Tomcats Dealt 2-1 Loss At Waynesburg

WAYNESBURG, Pa. - The Tomcat men's soccer team fell by a score of 2-1 in conference play to Waynesburg University on Wednesday evening in Waynesburg, Pa.

Thiel got on the board first as Francis Ahia (Penn Hills, Pa./Penn Hills) found the back of the net on an unassisted goal in the 27th minute to give the Tomcats the 1-0 lead. Thiel would go into the half leading by the same score.

The Tomcats would hold the Yellow Jackets at bay until the 81st minute as Eric Burke scored off of a David Ford assist to tie the game at 1. Burke then added his third point of the contest as he assisted on a James Sneed goal just one minute later to give Waynesburg the lead for good, as the Yellow Jackets held on for the 2-1 victory.

The Tomcats will be back in action on Saturday as they Host the Bison of Bethany College. The game is scheduled to immediately follow the women's contest which begins at 1 p.m.
