Tomcat Men's Soccer Falls 3-0 to Westminster

GREENVILLE, Pa. — The Tomcat men's soccer team was defeated by a score of 3-0 by the Titans of Westminster on Tuesday afternoon in Greenville.
 
The Titans scored quickly in the first half of play as they jumped out to a 1-0 in the fourth minute on a strike from James Gross. The Titans would go on to outshoot the Tomcats 12-4 in the first half, but sophomore keeper Ethan Bayne (Palma Ceia, Fla./H.B. Plant) kept the game at 1-0 making four saves the rest of the half to take the game into the intermission at 1-0.
 
In the second half, Gross struck for the second time in the contest, this time an unassisted goal in the 68th minute of play to put the Titans up 2-0. Westminster then added one more goal, this time by Jason Mezyk to make the score 3-0. The game would end with the same score.
 
The Titans held the advantage in total shots with 18 to the Tomcats eight and Thiel managed just three shots on goal during the course of the contest.
 
Thiel will finish their season on Saturday October 29 when they host the Golden Tornadoes of Geneva College. Kickoff is scheduled for 2 p.m.
