BUFFALO, N.Y. – Thiel freshman forward Rory Duncan (Chardon, Ohio, Chardon) netted his team-leading seventh goal of the season Saturday night as the Tomcats posted a 3-0 shutout win against D'Youville College in Buffalo, N.Y. Freshman keeper Ethan Bayne (Palma Ceia, Fla., H.B. Plant High School) also recorded his first collegiate win with a four-save performance.

Thiel (4-3-1) senior forward Cory Borland (Uniontown, Pa., Laurel Highlands) initiated the scoring for the Tomcats against D'Youville (0-7-0), tallying his first goal of the season in the 19th minute of action. Freshman forward Francis Ahia (Penn Hills, Pa., Penn Hills) scored his second goal of the season in the 47th minute off of a corner kick before Duncan registered his goal in the 73rd minute.

The Tomcats finished with a 19-8 edge in shots (13-4 SOG) and a slight 5-4 advantage in corner kicks.

Thiel returns to action on Monday, September 20 when they travel to Pitt-Bradford for a 4 p.m. kickoff.
